T. Jane Stroud

HARTFORD CITY, IN-- Jane Stroud, 97, passed away Friday, April 17, 2026 in Hartford City where she had been a lifelong resident.  Born November 4, 1928, she was the 3rd child of Theodore A. Clark and Iva Frances Dunlap Clark.

On August 31, 1946, Jane married Everett "Bud" Stroud and together they built a very successful business, Stroud's Plumbing and Heating, for 52 years.

Jane played golf in her younger days and loved to play in the Tuesday Evening Twilight Ladies League.  She also grew beautiful roses and irises, loved Poodles and Yorkies, and even had a small dog grooming business.  Jane loved to paint and shocked her family when she would bring home some of the most gorgeous paintings as they didn't know she had such a hidden talent.  Her home was adorned with several of her best works.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Hartford City for 61 years.  During that time, she served as a Deacon for numerous years.  She also belonged to the "Holy Rollers" which consisted of a group of church members that met once a month to make noodles to sell as a fundraiser.

Jane is survived by her daughters, Sandi Circle, Huntington, and Cindie (Brad) Neterer, Hartford City.  Grandchildren Robyn (Joe) Egry, Kyle Circle, Beth (Drew) Sell, and Katie (Brian) McEvoy.  Great Grandchildren include Eli Parett, Ean Parett, Liam Sell, Landon McEvoy and Hattie Sell.  She is also survived by her beloved dog, Bella.  She is predeceased by her husband, parents, brothers Charles Clark, Joseph Clark, sister Arlene Adkins, and son-in-law, Bill Circle.
