Obituary

Ingrid (Rahe) Litten was born Jan 3, 1971, and died Nov 1, 2023, from Cystic Fibrosis lung transplant complications.

She was preceded in death by her brothers James Anthony (Tony) Rahe, 8/18/74 to 8/10/1998 and David Robert Rahe 1/12/1971 to 11/1/2011 and her husband Trent Litten, 12/1/1964 to 8/25/2021.  Ingrid is survived by her parents, Constance (Van Doren) Rahe and Robert J (Bob) Rahe.

Ingrid had a positive attitude which she shared with others and lived her life to the fullest to the end.  She attended Eaton and St. Lawrence Elementary Schools and Delta Middle and High Schools, and she studied business at Ball State University.  She participated in 4-H, showing sheep and her horse and pony, as well as playing soccer and running cross country.

Later in life she enjoyed scuba diving and snorkeling, especially on the Mexican reefs. She belonged to an antique Fan Club and repaired and restored a variety of fans, and she loved to sew, often taking her machine to her hospital stays where she made capes and costumes for children there. She also taught private sewing lessons to young students and she owned horses and showed them at the Iowa State Fair.

Ingrid and her husband owned Professional Music Store, Des Moines, Iowa, specializing in guitars, and donated instruments to schools and charity fundraisers, many of which Ingrid participated in.  They had no children, but Ingrid enjoyed her cousins and their children, her brother's stepdaughter Hannah, and her husband's niece and nephews.  They had many dogs, including rescues, and a very large Maine Coon cat.

A funeral of Christian burial will be conducted at St. Francis Catholic Church, Muncie, with calling hour at 10 am and funeral Mass at 11 am, Saturday, Dec 9. Burial will be at Elizabethtown Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or your favorite charity.
