Dorothy Irene Stover, 94, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 in IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.

She was born in Hartford City on February 15, 1923 to Samuel and Vera (Sopher) Elliott. Dorothy married Joseph D. Stover in 1946. He passed away March 25, 1998.

Dorothy is survived by son, John Stover, daughters, Carmen (Gary) Rogers and Kimberly (Leighton) Jacobs, two grandchildren, Jeremy (Shannon) Rogers, Jessica (Trever) Dunica, three great-grandchildren, Taylor Rogers, Adrienne Dunica and Blake Dunica and a step-grandson, Joshua Jacobs, and a step-great-granddaughter, Tacy Jacobs. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband Dorothy was preceded in death by brothers Chester Elliott, Marion Elliott, Floyd Elliott, Clayton Elliott, Gerald Elliott and Gene Elliott and sisters, Crystal Bell and Thelma Schmidt-Keenan.

Dorothy was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Private services will be held at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie.

Waters Funeral Home 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City was in charge of arrangements.
