He was born July 14, 1935 in Hartford City to Lawrence and Fern (Sills) Gilland and graduated from Hartford City High School in 1954. He married Evelyn Arbuckle on August 28, 1960. Survivors include: his wife, Evelyn; one daughter, Kim (Geoff) Harlow, Hartford City; one brother, Jack (Janice) Gilland, Hartford City; one sister, Judie (Douglas) Bay, Fort Wayne; and two grandchildren, Kacey Harlow and Jeffrey Gilland. A memorial visitation for friends and family will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City.
