Carol Ann Landon

HARTFORD CITY, IN—

Carol Ann (Poling) Landon, 75, passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 10, 2024 at IU Health, Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.  She was the second of six children, born to Glen and Mary (Wright) Poling on June 17, 1949, in Marion, Indiana.

Carol graduated from Eastbrook High School, class of 1968 and had worked in the cafeteria for the public school system.   She married David Paul Landon on June 29, 1974 in Upland.  They were married 49 ½ years, prior to his death on January 4th of this year.

She especially loved spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed fishing, sunbathing, snowmobiling and the times spent at Tippy Lake, with family.

Surviving family include her daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Thomas; son Paul David Landon; four grandchildren:  Quinten Paul Howard, Jenna Suzanne Thomas (Mel); Kayla Nicole Laudenbacher (Thad) and Keshia Ann Locke (fiance' Andrew).  Four great-grandchildren:  Haleigh Kolp, Hunter Kolp, Hank Locke and Bostin Laudenbacher.   Three sisters:  Linda (Philip) Morrison of Hartford City, Shirley (Dan) Clark of Alexandria and Cindy Bogue of Windfall.  One brother, Jerry Poling of Marion, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Carol is preceded in death by her brother, Larry Poling; sister-in-law, Kay Poling and brother-in-law, Richard Bogue.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16th, in the Waters Funeral Home 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Pastor Troy Kaufman presiding.  Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Muncie, following the service.

Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 15th from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home and after 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
