Carl E. "Bob" Futrell, 94, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018, in Miller's Merry Manor, Dunkirk.

He was born August 19, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan to Carl E. and Helen (Leonard) Futrell. Bob graduated from Hartford City High School and then joined the US Navy.

On December 7, 1971 he married Hazel Mundorf. Her death occurred on August 21, 2010.

Bob worked in maintenance for 20 years at 3-M and then worked at Sheller- Globe retiring in 1988. He owned a gas station for many years and was known for changing and repairing tires.

Survivors include two sons, Bobby (Rita) Futrell and Bill (Allicia) Futrell; three daughters, Judy Futrell, Cindy Futrell, and Nancy Griffith; step-children, Linda (Charles) Butcher, Frances (John) Hunt, Scott (Sheila) Murrell, Lester (companion, Edie Murray) Murrell and Nikki (Dee) Murrell. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Janet Charnley, a step-son, David Murrell, and two grandsons, Michael Thomas and James Charnley.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Thursday, February 15, 2018 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Pastor David Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery with Military Rites by Delaware County Veterans Organization.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 am to 1 pm Thursday.
