Phyllis M. Sine

Phyllis M. Sine, age 98, passed away at Warren, IN on January 18, 2019. A former resident of Hartford City, she was born April 2, 1920 to Cecil E. Mauller and Hannah Anderson Mauller.

She graduated from Hartford City High School in 1938 and Ball State Teachers College in 1957, later earning her Master's Degree.

On February 7, 1943, she married Robert L. Sine, Sr. He would proceed her in death April 27, 1954. Their children are Carolyn Covert (Larry), New Carlisle, IN and Robert L. Sine, Jr. (Marilyn), of Hartford City; grandchildren include: Renee' Schuhmacher (Brian), Hartford City, Kristine Pass (Gary), Crossville, TN, Brian Covert (Ruth), Germany, Christopher Covert (Kandi), New Carlisle, IN and Brittani Schuhmacher (friend, Ben), St. Petersburg, FL. Phyllis also has five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Patricia Mauller.

She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church, Blackford County Hospital, Blackford County Mental Health Org. and the Blackford Historical Society.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Rev. Lloyd Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Hartford City Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday, prior to services.

Memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church or Hartford City Cemetery.
